Robert Riley

ROBERT RILEY is an Independent/Non-Executive Director. He was elected Chairman of the Board of Massy Holdings Ltd. effective May 12th 2023. Mr. Riley previously served as Deputy Chairman of the Board of Massy Holdings Ltd. and Chairman of the company’s Governance, Nomination and Renumeration Committee.
 
Mr. Riley has also served in a variety of executive management and senior legal positions, including Head of Safety and Operations Risk, Safety Risk Leadership and Culture, BP PLC, London, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, BP Trinidad and Tobago; Vice President, Legal and Government Affairs, Amoco and BP/Amoco; and General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, BWIA. He has also served on the Boards of Amoco Trinidad and Tobago LLC and other Amoco entities, Titan Methanol; BP Trinidad and Tobago, Atlantic LNG, The Bank of Nova Scotia, Trinidad and Tobago Limited, the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT), Caribbean Airlines Limited, and Board of Management of J D Sellier & Co, Attorneys at Law. 
 
An Attorney-at-Law, admitted to the Supreme Court in 1987, Mr. Riley holds inter alia, an LL.B (Hons.) from the University of the West Indies, Barbados; and a BSc. (Hons.) in Agricultural Science from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad. In 2003, he was awarded a Chaconia Medal (Gold) by the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago for his contribution to National Development. In 2009, he was awarded a Doctor of Laws Honoris Causa by the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine

David Affonso

David was appointed President & Chief Executive Officer in 2024. He joined the Board of Massy Holdings Ltd. in 2019 upon his appointment as Executive Chairman, Integrated Retail Business Unit.  David’s tenure with the Massy Group spans over three decades, during which time his extensive experience and keen business acumen have been invaluable assets to the Group.

David has held various leadership positions within the Group, particularly in the Retail and Distribution sectors across the CARICOM region. As Chairperson of the IRP, David oversaw a period of remarkable growth, with double-digit increases in both profit and revenue. His strategic vision and hands-on approach have positioned the IRP for continued success and expansion, including most recently their entry into markets outside of the Caribbean region with the acquisition of a chain of seven supermarkets in Jacksonville, Florida in 2023.

David retains his role as Executive Chairman, Integrated Retail Portfolio.
